Chronic inflammatory bowel diseases

Chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (CIMD):

Cannabidiol is also studied for its efficiency against chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis:

CBD against inflammatory bowel diseases. Article published in the journal Phytotherapy Research in May 2013.

Cannabidiol reduces intestinal inflammation. Study published in the journal Plos ONE in December 2011.

Multiple sclerosis:

CBD is one of the two main active ingredients used in Sativex, the drug intended for patients suffering from multiple sclerosis (the second active principle being THC). But this cannabinoid would also be efficient in cream form to treat the symptoms of this disease, according to this study published in January 2016 in the DARU Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Acne:

CBD has a sebostatic and anti-inflammatory effect on human sebocytes, which allows it to be an efficient molecule in the treatment of acne. Publication of the study in the Journal of Clinical Investigation in July 2014.

On the same topic, this study published in the journal Experimental Dermatology in April 2016 shows that CBDV, CBC and THCV are also efficient cannabinoids to fight acne, this disease that affects in particular the skin of adolescents but also that of several adults.

Neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions:

Cannabidiol protects neurons from degeneration, this neuroprotective property is particularly useful in fighting neurological diseases. This point had been studied in our article on the use of marijuana against Alzheimer's disease and which brings together the available studies on the subject, one of the most pertinent is usually the study published in February 2011 in the journal Molecular Pharmacology.

The action of CBD is studied in a more generalized way against neurological conditions:

Cannabidiol, neuroprotection and neuropsychiatric disorders. Publication of the study in the journal Pharmacological Research in February 2016.

Cannabidiol in medicine, reviews its therapeutic potential against diseases of the central nervous system. Study published in the journal Phytotherapy Research in October 2008.

Addition to drugs:

Cannabidiol (CBD) can be used to fight addictive behaviors, as this May 2015 publication in the journal Substance Abuse: Research and Treatment demonstrates.

CBD would be particularly effective in helping you quit tobacco, according to this study published in April 2013 in the Addictive Behaviors newspaper. It may also be helpful in reducing opiate resistance, as indicated in this study published in the journal Neurotherapeutics in October 2015.

Reconstruction of fractures:

According to this study published in March 2015 in the Journal of Bone and mineral research, Cannabidiol (CBD) accelerates the recovery of bone fractures by stimulating the activity of osteoblasts.

Cancer:

CBD is one of the efficient cannabinoids against some types of cancer and is the subject of several studies thanks to its anti-tumor properties. Cannabidiol has in particular the advantage of having an anti-angiogenesis action, that is, it inhibits the creation of new blood channels necessary for the growth of tumors, as this publication in the British Journal of Pharmacology of May 2012 shows.

You can find in our article on cannabis against cancer several studies directed towards the action of CBD and other cannabinoids on different types of tumors. Therefore we want to add that the dosages of CBD used in these cancer studies are much higher than the concentrations obtained from hemp extracts that can currently be found on the market.

Liver protection:

Cannabidiol protects the liver from hepatic steatosis caused by alcohol consumption, according to this study published in the journal Free Radical Biology & Medicine in March 2014.

This protective action is not limited to alcohol, we can see in this study published in April 2015 in the journal Mediators of Inflammation that CBD also protects the liver from the damage caused by cocaine use.

Diabetes:

If we refer to this study on mice published in the journal Autoimmunity in April 2006, Cannabidiol (CBD) would be able to reduce the impact of diabetes. But CBD could also help treat complications.ions related to this disease, such as cardiomyopathy or diabetic retinopathy.
